These orphaned cuties will soon be ready for their forever home. My nieces named the gray tabby (last on in back) "Louis" in honor of the guy that rescued them :-) 7-13-12

Kitty Louis IS a chow "hound" and is almost kitty-ferocious. He's a handfull!! :-)
Comment by Robert Lucian on July 14, 2012 at 7:43pm You and your kids are doing great with these little guys, they are looking great! (just out of curiousity, does the one named Louis eat the most? Ha,, just kidding.

I volunteered from the very beginning to take all 10 -- figured 10 wouldn't be any more trouble than 6. I'll get in touch with Louis to see what he says.
Comment by Diane Geer on July 14, 2012 at 4:06pm I'm not sure if the lady still has the other little kittens or not. She said their eyes were barely open and that her daughter had to work and was unable to care for them, though the daughter had gotten special animal formula at Kroger. I asked if she thought the mother cat might have been moving them and she said she didn't think so because she heard her dog barking in the night and found the kittens the next morning. So she thinks someone left them overnight. I can give you her teleno., if you'd like to speak with her. Send me an email and I'll respond. Thanks.

I'd also like to know about the other 4 kittens. Dr. Butler pronounced the gray tabby as a male, but said he would like another look at them in a couple weeks to be sure.
Comment by Diane Geer on July 14, 2012 at 2:53pm I hope "Louis" won't turn into a "Louise". Ha. Even so, still a well-deserved honor. Thanks for stepping up to the plate, Tracy. An interesting comment about the cat shortage in Colorado. Residents of that state certainly would have a field day here in Denison--so many to choose from and at no cost. Unfortunately, the surplus also leads to devaluation of life and potential abuse. Not sure what the outcome was for the four younger kittens found earlier. I hope the best for them. I was approached yesterday by a lady inquiring if I knew someone needing a pair of cute kittens that in all probability were dropped on her porch. We discussed several options for them. We are making a difference, one pet at a time.

Chantel, It sounds like we need to find someone who is about to make a road trip to Colorado!
Comment by Chantel Tennyson on July 14, 2012 at 2:14pm You're a champ for taking these babies on. They really take dedication at this age. Too bad we aren't closer to Colorado. I have a friend who lives there who tells me kittens are at a premium due to their neuter/spay laws and she looked for months to find a kitten. These darlings would find a home in no time at all.

Patti,
I don't recall getting any calls I couldn't identify....would LOVE to speak with you about these babies. They're doing great, but need someone to come play with them.
